Regardless of this victory, Pakistan bowling is indeed weak without Shoaib and Sami. Something that not only Lara, but players like Imran Khan, Javed Miandad and Wasim Akram have said on many occassions.
To have Sami and Shoaib open the bowling in a test match with Kaneria following on and with either Shabbir (with the correct bowling action) or Umar Gul as the fourth bowler and with Afridi chipping in, is the type of bowling attack that can boost Pakistan's success ratio a lot.
In ODI matches though, their presence isn't that much critical.
