As for the timing of this, I heard on one of the news channels, that NAB had been preventing a few key witnesses from testifying, and the SC had long ordered them to produce those witnesses. Apparently they were produced (yesterday or today), and their testimony directly implicated Raja Pervez and others.
I dont understand the confusion everyone is going through. What sense does it make to associate this with the army? The Army has been on the sidelines for the past 5 years. YOu dont have that 'army/establishment' excuse any more.
Raja Pervez has been thrown out in a proper fashion because of his theft and corruption. Plain and simple. Chaudhry Pervez Ilahi becomes the PM till the caretaker govt takes over. Its a pretty straightforward process.

The thing is that SC must realise that their decisions have repercussions. Could they NOT wait till this TuQ TuQ ends and to avoid creating further chaos?

Should justice stop from being served just because Tuq tuq is sitting on Jinnah Avenue? And what if Tuq Tuq decides to sit around for the next 2 months? Justice does not, and should not depend on Tahirul Qadri's activities.
I do feel that this could have waited for another 2 months but what has happened is not wrong.

Its NOT wrong! but the timing of all this is extremely insensitive and I along with many pakistanis dislike it strongly! It gives PPP an excuse to be shaheed. Well done SC!
Martyrdom for PPP in the offing?? What else they could have desired after the rocky five years in power, a new lifeline.
At this stage, I think they would not gain the martyrdom card through this move. They have shot themselves in the feet so badly that PPP will require a long time to resurrect itself.
The unlucky ones who were expected to face criminal charges at the time of the apex court’s ruling included Liaquat Jatoi, Raja Pervez Ashraf as well as Naveed Qamar and Waqar Masood. During their tenures, down payment to different RPPs was increased from seven to 14 per cent.
Not sure about Federal laws, but according to the NAB ordinance, only incumbent PMs and Presidents have immunity....so Raja Pervez doesnt have immunity from their laws.
