calling every hour is a little too much
I agree.
It's about balance. Calling every hour for an update is too much. Not bothering to call at all is too much. Find a nice balance in between.

trying go out somewhere to relax and have fun and having to answer a phone call every hour....while it maybe ok once in a while but having someone act like that 24/7 is going to become very annoying very soon

Yes but he shouldn’t be too over protective. My family’s been pretty laid back, actually I dunno if I could cope with an overprotective partner:hmmm:Things that would annoy moi would be questions like “kahan gayi thi” “kyun gayi thi” “us se kyun baat ki” " wahan kaun kaun thaa". Too much interference/ interrogation me no likes 
I hate it when someone constantly calls or calls 10 times a day. I just start ignoring them and I guess that’s what I would do.

Overprotective as in calling every hour? It might be cute until a point but if I get irritated, I won't accept the call OR I'll make sure to scare him somehow to let him know he needs to back off.

I am an overprotective dad.
I drive my daughter to work everyday, and in the evening make sure to pick her up. whenever she has an appointment with friends make sure to drive her there instead of let her take taxi (partially reason is enjoy her company).
Initially i do call her at office every one hour, but things become normal later on (1 or 2 calls everyday)
From her high school to university, i made sure that my schedule tie with her classes and other programs (i allowed her to stay at dorm for a semester though).
Mostly she appreciate this but some time get frustrate as well for lack of so called freedom.
Over-protective is fine.. as long as he's inquiring about my wellbeing. BIG problem when it turns into 'shakk'

Whatever is 'over' cannot be good. "Over" is added for a reason. Things should stay within reason and fair limits. Hardly anybody wants a person constantly on their nerves.

Overprotective partners are the worst...cause it usually does involve 'shakk' to some degree.

My dad is very over protective, When im out its where with who when im back and how long ive been out for. Once he had to stay over and i was at home, He rang me so many times to see if i was ok. I think its sweet. When were all at home he cooks for me serves me and always gets what i want. I love it. My bf is pretty much like my dad too hence why im so attracted to him. He reminds me so much of my dad. I wud pick a over protective than a under protective anyday!

if overprotective means being with someone who is too much of a shakki then a big NO...but if it means someone who is over caring then may be YES...but still i like balanced personality...over over over makes over :p

^ there is no such thing as over caring. You get what you give. Over protective is insecure, when someone is constantly on your nerves and is quite obsessive in my opinion.
