Old news but still interesting to know what the West thought of Osama before 911

According to the article’s 3rd paragraph, what the West thought when the article was being written is that he was training his men for further “jihads”. It says, clearly,

…the Western embassy circuit in Khartoum has suggested that some of the “Afghans” whom this Saudi entrepreneur flew to Sudan are now busy training for future jihad wars

Turns out what the West thought was exactly correct.
