I think it is neither desirable nor realistic to be optimist all the way. To be optimist in all situation can make you overlook the cause of problems, whereas realism (realistic pessimism) can help you find cause of you failure so that you can correct it. Same goes for religious matters, if we keep on optimism that we are Muslim and one way or another we will get Jannah that thought can make us lazy in fulfilling our religious obligations, but at the same time we have to be optimist (realistic optimist) that if we offer prayer Allah will (InshAllah) accept our prayers and reward us with Jannah.
So we need to keep balance between optimism and realism.

Coming to question of OP, I see you did a positive and realistic thing by opening this thread and discussing you problem. I dont know what site you visited, but i do know there are lot of such websites which offer users such tests, and at the end of the test they offer you some paid material that help to become optimist, they had to sell.

but being optimist doesn’t mean escape from realities. It means maintaining hope that every problem can be solved and there is always a way out. no?
