There is a lady (I forgot her name) who started sheltering these troubled women a couple of years ago. And started fighting to get their rights legally settled as per the law. But she was victimized by the local media and she gained very negative reputation when she started exposing these men involved so that they could be punished but... instead of fixing the problem, she started facing a great deal of impediments for what she was doing from the govt. The chief of Dubai police gave out some very negative staements about her. Her fault....? She tried to expose those men who belonged to some....... respectable families of UAE.
I am trying to find that article on the net. That will be another eye opener.
