Hi all,
I remember posting about this girl's story a while ago on this website which is what has brought me back here.
I am talking about this girl whose parents had migrated to the UAE more than two decades ago. She was brought up, got educated there along with her other siblings. She was working with a government organization there. As a Pakistani, she sufferred extreme oppression for a couple of years by her (women) emarati superiors.
She visited Pakistan. Her plan was to look for a new job upon her return to UAE. But upon her return from Pakistan, on the airport, she was told that her name was 'black listed' because her employer had lodged a complaint to the immigration authorities that she was 'absconding'. She tried to explain to them that that was a fake complaint & that she had permission from her seniors in three offices (The head office, her work base and the immigration incharge for the employees) for travelling to Pakistan.
She begged the immigration officers at the airport to investigate the matter with the organization officers who were well aware of her situation and that she had not 'run away' as the complaint said. But immigration officers refused to let her go. Her family was there to pick her from the airport but they did not let her go but put her in the cell as an 'absconding' criminal.
The next morning, they took her to the related immigration one by one where she was physically & verbally abused by the immigration officers (emarati women). She had to scream out for help to save her when the men officials in the same office came to her rescue. They did not let any of her family meet her but took her to another emirate (sharjah) in a 'criminal van'.
sharjah immigration allowed her to meet her brother & cousin. But told them to arrange to pack her bags & send her back to Pakistan immidiately because she has been imposed put a life ban to enter all the GCC countries because she had absconded from her employer. Her brother & cousin tried to explain to those officials everyone that the complaint against her was fake. They told her that she grew up, got educated in that country, all her family was living in that country, how could she 'run away'....... But none in the authorities were willing to listen to their plea. All they wanted was to "send her back immediately". Her brother was shocked at the injustice. He tried to talk to them, explain to them that the ban being imposed on her was unfair as she had done nothing wrong. Another emarati officer there who had thrown stuff (like pen, etc.) on her face did not like all that. She told her brother & cousin that before they were willing to let her with them & arrange for her return but now (because her brother had dared to question their unjust punishment to her based on a fake complaint), they would not let her go.
They forced her into another cell while her brother cried, begging them for justice. As per the girl, she was later shifted to a jail & physically & verbally abused. All of that....... for absolutely NO CRIME. Her crime was her brother's plea for justice & the fact that she considered UAE her 'home'. She had refused to migrate to canada as per suggestions from many of her friends as all her family was settled in UAE & she did not want to leave them to go anywhere. She always considered Pakistan a 'second home' before this incident.
How the family managed to get her out of jail is a complete different story altogether. I think I already mentioned in the thread earlier what she was made to go through in jail. Her family did manage to get her out of jail. They agreed to the unjust punishment of the life time ban on her to enter any GCC countries. They just wanted their daughter back. They had to use some strong 'wassta' to get her out as the bigger monster (the immigration) had no plans to let her free.
Right now, I have returned with the updates because after all that trauma the family has gone through since March 2008, they see dim for their girl being reunited with them. She was forced to live in Pakistan all alone so her mother & sister have moved back to live with her. Her family was trying to get things settled by following the legal procedures. They had all the hope they would be given justice by the government of UAE. But everytime they tried to approach the court and legal authorities, they got only one answer from them, "We cannot do anything."
A very authentic source broke to them that the reason legal authorities are declining to help them could be because probably in her workplace, any of her emarati seniors has used some strong influencial 'waasta' probably from the 'royal' family which is why it might be impossible to get rid of the ban. Upon investigating further, they discovered that some kind of criminal case has been lodged against her with sharjah immigration authorities. They tried to find out the nature of that fake criminal case which has been lodged against her by sharjah immigration authorities but they could not. Her father believes that probably that was done after her brother tried to talk to the immigration authorities in sharjah. And based on that case is probably why they forced her to go to jail.
I am traumatized by listening to this girl's story. Her life, her career is destroyed. You can imagine what state the whole broken up family is in. Other than the other psychological issues that girl sufferred after this incident, she has recently broken the news to her family that she is converting to christianity. In jail, she had met up with a group of christian girls who supported her, talked to her, made her stay positive when she had almost lost her mind. She says she can never forget the moral support she had received by a group of christian girls who treated her like she was a family while her own muslim brothers & sisters of the modern land treated her like 'filth' because she was a Pakistani expatriate living in their land. Her family is devastated to know her plan but they have no answer for her. They themselves are losing their hope in the 'great just arab land' of UAE. Her remaining family is also planning to leave the land which brought the family so much misery through breaking it. Their daughter is made to suffer for the crimes which she never comitted.
The above case has co-incided with the case of Dr. Aafia. So, it naturally comes to my mind. But Dr. Aafia is lucky to have US citizenship and the fact that she is in US so she was offerred a free trial. Regardless of the outcome of the trial, she was atleast allowed to have a free trial even though the common Pakistanis do not keep from enchanting against america at any given opportunity. But here, this Pakistani girl is not being given a chance to even know why all those fabricated complaints / cases against her have been lodged & the courts have refused her family to help with anything. Her family wants to persue her case with the UAE government through legal procedures but they are not even allowed to open her case. Every time they go to the court or any legal / immigration authority, they are told, "We cannot help you."
Personally, I am simply blown by not only the above but also by so many more cases of the human right abuse I have found out in the past two years. A recent case I came to know of is about another emarati man involved in bringing the man / labor power into the country by way of manipulation & then chargning them for the same, forcing them into a slavery life style. This way, he puts them into high amounts of debts & they cannot leave until their emarati 'sponsor' wants them to. So, they're forced to work until they have paid off their debt to the sponsor and until the sponsor desires them to.
Oh I have headache. I cant take this. Every new day, I find myself being thankful to Lord for giving me a free, independent land to live in which Pakistanis do not appreciate. This girl's and many other cases have given me a new found identity as a Pakistani. I love my freedom, my independence in this country despite all of the problems caused by the anti Pakistan forces. Daily, I thank God for giving me Pakistan so that I do not have to suffer the humiliation in any arab country for being an outsider. And I am not forced to suffer an ill treatment by the western people for being a 'muslim' & a Pakistani because of all the shame the CIA agent, USAMA BIN LADEN has brought to all of the muslims of the world to fulfil his lust & desire of seeing high rise buildings, big cars in dhoobhaaiiii to gain appreciation of the world & prove that arabs are more capable than herding the camels and the sheeps.
What that muslim CIA agent does not understand though is that those high rise buildings, big expensive cars, gamble houses, easy access to alcohol, prostitution & his love of materialism & dream of worldly development of his favourite arab land (dhooobhaaii) might gain him all the appreciation from the like minded people of the world but would never earn him paradise which he promised his crazy followers will be given by God if they followed his commands of destruction. And he did all of that upon the instructions of his HUMAN masters, imagine that.
May God save the world & the good souls from the terror of dajjal / the anti christ (people like OBL, love for money, the materialism, etc.).
