^ Yes, for her first baby, my cousin was diagnosed with preclampsia at 8 months. She was just at the doctors for a regular check up. They knocked her out, performed the c-section, she woke up, and she had a baby!
With the second one, she had the choice to go natural or have a c-section. She decided since she had already had one and since she has a very small frame, she would stick with the c-section. Everything went fine, but she had the epidural and was awake during the procedure.
