I do online shopping too, it has to do with time and assortment.
in some cases the shops dont carry all the stuff, e.g. the heritage collection of banana republic which I really like, is only available in flagship stores, easier for me to order it, try and and if i dont like it, or the fit is off, i can return it at the local banana republic store. same goes for LLBean, their signature collection is not available in most llbean stores.
In other cases its an assortment issue, I have been buying shirts at Charles Tyrwhitt and Thomas Pink, the patterns, colours, fit etc is hard to find at local stores, even those that carry the label, and yes..i get better deals on sales.
same with shoes, no store can equal zappos in terms of selection.
fleabay is good to find hard to find stuff, e.g. old formula 1 stuff.
and then ofcourse concert tickets, all ticketmaster.com, all travel bookings online, last time i went to a travel agent was in 1996 I think.
