Gola Gunda, nothing is a piece of cake.. well pie maybe but not cake :) relax your friend will get the degree if he really puts his mind to it..
my suggestion would be to fist write down exactly what the application is suppose to do.. DO NOT START CODING! start from paper design.. draw the layout.. think what is do able and what isn't.. by doable i mean what things does he know.. does he know how images are stored in database? does he know how to store video clips on the server? how to tag them?
find the weakness and the the strength.. it will only benefit him .. do the paper work right now and then once u knw exactly what you can and what you can't do then programming remains a small problem which can be overcome easily..
One more question that I have for you guys.. which stream are you guys in? and how much programming experience (doesn't matter what kind) do you guys have?
