com’on he is an ex military man! no doubt he spent his time away in deserted lands and what if he caught some NAUGHTY habbits! if he is out of closet and happy to express true himself then who are we to judge him may be you remind him of his old GOLDEN memories and that physical contact is just a way of renewing the precious bond with his old gold days.

ok seriously now. why dun you tell him that u dun feel comfertable with those hand gestures?? I mean he seems to be a reasonable person so are you! why keep things! just tell him how u really feel. or if u are uncomfertable with talking about him directly you can always start a conversation about people’s behavior and how some people’s habbits can be discomferting for others.. give him sum examples and bring the gesture topic in between. I am sure he will “read between the lines” and stop doing it.
