How would you even go about measuring whether it’s easier to speak in one language than the other?

Let’s see now…

“Aik kashmiri chai” is 4 syllables.

“One kashmiri tea” is also 4 syllables.

“Aik naan, do kabab” is 5 syllables.

“One naan, two kababs” also 5 syllables.

What’s the big deal? Someone who can understand “aik aur do” should also be able to understand something as simple as “one” and “two.” Or don’t speak at all…point to the items on the menu…and hold up a number of fingers to indicate quanity. Another profound thread from Monk.
