One makeup obsession right now

Re: One makeup obsession right now

@Deeba - mainly liquid these days, or gel eyeliners, pencil ones don't do it for me. Probly cos I don't tend to use it under the eyes/waterline much unless it's for heavier eye makeup.

I've tried various eye liners and surma like that RV, they all smudge a lot and make a mess, and i prefer something neater. The liquid ones i use are easy for me cos they take 10 seconds to do before work and dry quickly. I am curious about the Guerlain Loose Kohll though, my sister uses them and said they're good.

In New York. :D

None of the high-end department stores (bloomingdales, neiman marcus, etc) carried the product. They sold other aucoin products like tools but not makeup, it had to be purchased online. Went to Miami and luckily there was a Space NY counter but it was out of the shades I wanted. So, I got samples from a Bloomingdales in NY and the samples alone will last me a while. I think that if you're around NC 40-42 or a C4 in Mac's Face and Body....then the sx 8 or sx 11 would be a closer fit. I think you can order samples from camerareadycosmetics.

Re: One makeup obsession right now

True, they are a bit messy but I think they make the eyes sparkle more. It takes a while to get the hang of it. I sometimes wet a wand and dip it into the powder to get a more neater application for the upper lid. Was curious about the Guerlain as well. Smashbox made a similar version called Soft effects…which was powder form with a wand. I bought extras of them as intuition told me they’d be discontinued which has happened with many of my fave products, intuition proved correct :k:

Re: One makeup obsession right now

I've heard such great things about it, would you recommend it?
I've been dying to get my hands on it but I'm too scared to order online and choose the wrong shade.. need to find a counter and get matched.

liptsickssssssss

Re: One makeup obsession right now

If i'm more towards nc35 would the sx 7 work as a skin shade match? I see it on amazon for around $39 and I just want to make sure the shade is right before I rush to click the button to buy. I really wanted a sample to see how my skin looks with it on.

Re: One makeup obsession right now

The Giorgio Armani Corrector is the most epic thing ever if you have bad dark circles.

Re: One makeup obsession right now

GG, their swatches are tricky. From the search that I've done, Sx 7 is for those who are fair skinned with yellow undertones. Sx 9 is for those with pink undertones. Sx 8 is for those with medium skin with yellow undertones and I have read that this shade and sx 9 are more equivalent to nc 35. So you have to decide if you are have more yellow or pink and if you are fair or medium. If you're fair with yellow...then sx 7. If you're medium with yellow...sx 8. If you're medium with pinkish undertones...sx9. That's my guess, but you should do your own research to make sure. Rather than by 39 bucks, see if you can get samples for cheaper or free.

Re: One makeup obsession right now

^^ For the skin enhancers, odd numbers are always for pink undertones and the even numbers are for yellow undertones

Re: One makeup obsession right now

Sx 10 is an even number and there is no yellow in it. One lady thought I'd be sx 10 because 11 would be too yellow for me, boy was she wrong. I could see mixing 10 with 11 if I want a less yellow look...but that may not be necessary as it matches with the c4. To answer your previous question, I still need to practice applying it. I applied it with my fingers and it's very, very pigmented...so I can understand why they say a little goes a long way...the dot's worth I used smoothly concealed my spots with one application...whereas I'd have to apply an extra coat with other foundations I've used. So just based on the this attempt, I like it. Have yet to apply with bb.
