I agree , it does make a difference.I used to use eye-pencil alot, but then it started looking old to me , like a 90’ish look 
So now , since I haven’t been blessed with long and think eyelashes that my husband and kiddies have(mashallah) , I use mascara.I swear by it.
A light gold shimmer on the lids and mascara, and a natural shade of lipstick.Thats the everyday look for me.You kind of get stuck in a rut after a while I guess..
