it doesnt help saving money it is as simple as tht!
where they served 3 different dishes now they will hafto serve 1 dish 3 times the quantity plus 80% of pakistanis care more abt their guests then the rules....wot should be banned is lavish food at the politician's dinners their children's weddings!!!
though i wish this rule could help....
desert bird, you should not need a law to help you decide that you should live within your means. ppl should try to stop being part of the rat race and look at their own finances and have wedding menus acording to their means.
Come on , you shattered the whole concept of Jaza-Saza of Quran, just like who cares to seek for Jannah if there would not be Hell thats why almost every follwing ayah of Quran describing the blessings of Jannah accompanied with azaab of Jahunum. I mean who cares for that ,specially muslims like us who can make this World pseudo jannah on earth as West has made. Who had cared for law if thier would not ave been law enforcement agencies. Who cares for exams if there will not a fear of failing system of academia.
You know the society of Pakistan,its ups and downs, social ,cultural bounds,limits,boundaries,rituals,braadari system,tip top nature, insulting blames of family of not spending much on wedding or funeral , to keep your nose high in the family etc etc.
Dear, law are made to implement it brutally as law is blind and not cares about wheteher a person can arrange 10 dishes or a poor having 6 daughters and not money to marry even his one daughter and all waiting for thier weddings with white hairs. Do you know how much it cost for a poor to have such luxuries and how his own relatives mentally torture him for not having a 'grand' function with multiple dishes . I pray for Shahbaz Sharif for making this law and hope he will surely implement it without taking any consideration because this law is under the legal cover of Punjab Assembly Bill and Supreme Court of Pakistan Ruling made by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudry .

SB, you can enjoy 3 dishes at your upcoming wedding .Shahbaz Sharif last limit is Rawalpindi, he cannot enter Islamabad ! :)

I totally agree with you Desert… I think Shahbaz sharif has taken the right steps and its good for the nation as a whole.. for those of you who want lavish weddings .. I say please feel the responsiblity that you the very fortunate have on your shoulders .. if you are going to set wrong practices , then others will follow or will be made to follow.
Inshallah at my wedding I am not taking any jahez with me or bari , its going to be a limited friends evening and I am not doing any mehendi’s or extra kharcha’s … only with the intention to set the practice right… those who think this will affect my status in the society , I simply tell them you are not invited , dont come if you are dissatisfied with the arrangements.
my only concern is , despite the one dish rule, the marriage halls are still charging the 3 dish charges .. they say that even if you are ordering one dish , we have to pay the price of the whole luncheon… it didnt make sense to me but serveral of them said the same thing … any views on that?

You can contact CM Punjab task force on phone or local police station against that fraud of marriage halls. Police now-a-days is very strict in these issues.

well the marriage halls have to make the money some how..so they just charge a lot more now a days.
