The interviews are there on youtube, Ravi Shastri for one. Which 14 years, did they stop playing in 2000, they stopped playing for a few years after this match and than when Aaqib javed took the hat trick against them they started crying that the umpire was biased even though he was a SL umpire. In the mid 90's they came back to play and I remember that as I was at that match and all around the Indians were full of what Tendi was going to do to Pak. As usual India lost the match and I still remember on Pakistani guy got up at the end of the match and addressing the indians said last time we beat you you ran away for 5 years now how long are you going to run for.
Seriously do you think India ran away from Sharjah just because of this one match. If you feel that good for you..
That said, I would not disagree to the statement that the loss was demoralizing. It had a huge impact. I remember myself crying for days. i was very young boy then.
Also do you not agree Sharjah had become a den for match fixers. I remember some matches where both teams were trying to loose.

The S/L umpire gave a hat trick against India and all three were LBW by Aqib. The Indians alleged that the S/L umpire was biased and took revenge for India beating S/L. That was the perfect excuse for them to run away from Sharjah.
And all of them were valid :)
I remember one particular match when India was playing there was absolutely no light, TV cameras showed the street lights and still the poor Indians were made to bat out the rest of the overs so that they could loose. If you sincerely believe that none of the matches in Sharjah were fixed, I seriously dont know what to tell you.

Matches were fixed everywhere including India, so why run away form Sharjah only. So the Indians were made to bat in pitch darkness in order that they lose. Hilarious. Gets better everytime.
As for the Hat trick it could not have been valid, how could it have been, it was against the Indians. No one can ever claim a hat trick against the mighty Indian team.

Lets see. After that match in April of 1986 , India played in Nov-Dec of 1986. Played one tournament in 1988. 2 tournaments in 1989. One each in 1990 and 1991.
So obviously that SIX did not cause them to run away from Sharjah. As I said, if it feeds your ego then good for you but that is not the truth. Fact is that in 1990s India felt that lots of funny business was going on in Sharjah and stopped playing. You may argue that India’s complaints were unfounded and stupid. That would be ok. But claiming that India stopped playing there because of that SIX is plain lie.

convenient how you suddenly missed the period between 1991 and 1994 and you agreed in your earlier post that they stopped playing in Sharjah even though we differ about the reasons but fact remains India ran from Sharjah. It was all a build up from that match onwards and if you dont want to accept the fact than keep comforting yourself with the thoughts that is was not that match which started the whole thing.

It is fact that India stopped playing in Sharjah during 1991-94 and then after 2000. But You said that SIX caused India to run away from Sharjah. That was your word , not mine. Fact is that India did played until 5 yrs after 1985 and when other dramas started India stopped going there. So THAT SIX was not the cause.

Matches were fixed everywehere including India, but with some places matches are held only to be fixed. In those kind of situations, I think it would be prudent to run away. Also if you will Sharjah was the best thing to happen to cricket.
Why is'nt Sharjah a hotspot for cricket anymore. Okay India ran away because of Javed's six, but what about other countries.

He mainly kept looking at the offside field, hardly ever looking at the onside, thus showing the bowler that he was going to aim for the off. Chetan said that Miandad had already sensed that it was going to be a yorker length delivery and he was ready for it
