Ok first of all, to those of you who actually liked the site; really nice to hear, and thanks alot.
*And for those of you who are a bit sceptic to this; well, i understand you guys really well, and i get your point, but i must say that i do DISagree to an extend. *
Why?
Becuase i know for a fact that when facebook came, alot of people said "We have Hi5, we don't wamy a Hi5-copy like facebook". When Hi5 came, people said "We have Orkut, we don't want an Orkut-copy like Hi5", and when Orkut came, alot of people said "We have MySpace, we don't want a Myspace-copy like Orkut". And the rest is history. Hey, even this gupshup forum is also one of several dousins of other pakistani gupshup forums, but it is doing good!
This may sound a bit confusing, but the point is that there are almost hundreds of video sharing sites, and alot of them are really huge (dailymotion.com, metacafe, vidpk, leak etc etc), even though youtube.com is the leading one. Just like there are several social networking sites, alot of them are really huge, although facebook is the largest.
*ApniKitaab.Com is not challenging Facebook at all, that would be the most stupid thing to even think, and how can a DESI social networking site even compete with facebook which is "international"? *
And last but not least; ApniKitaab.Com has the "desi touch" in it, which i think alot of people will like when they start using this site (I may be wrong, but time will show that) and we all know that most of us desis like to hang around with other desis rather than mixing up with "gore-ppl" (not meant in a negative way), both in real life and "virtual"-life (on the net), and ApniKitaab.Com is a place just like that; where all DESIS can hang around in a more serious and "real" way than a forum.
But at the end of the day we can just say that this is an attempt to make a site for desi people around the world, a site they will enjoy and like, and some will offcourse don't like it but that is perfectly alright, because everyone has their right to have their opinion, offcourse.
Phew, that was a long post, hope you'll bother to read through it :-P
