@cute witch. The blue stripes in Israeli flag has two symbolic meaning to it. One it respresents the color of sky, second the color of Aaron's staff was light blue, as were the tablets of the Law, and this is why God commanded the Jews to include it on their prayer shawls. In our prayer shawl we call it, "Tallit", has two stripes in it.
Therefore it was laid as a symbol as strand of the ritual fringes (tzitzit). In Torah, strand in the tzitzit should be light blue.
Now let me ask you a question, because you think you're smart.
How many Afghan Jews migrated to Israel between 1980-85.
How many Jews, currently living in south asia, that still hasn't migrated to Israel. Note i said South Asia, that includes Pakistan and India.
Last but not least, How many Jews living in Pakistan at the moment who hasn't migrated to Israel..and living in under the table..due to fear of their execution.
