well for me old dramas were pretty much those type of entertainment flicks wwhich were ‘the only’ option available at those times…
now a days ppl have a lot more in choice and yes the criteria from producing good and exceptional material haas gone down to ‘yaar drama hatum ho raha hai us ki jaga per duusra chalana hai’ thingy’s
Not exactly. Do we have music programs like ‘Nau-Bahar’, ‘Mehmil’, ‘Guitar 93’ or MCC now?
Lux style awards are nothing as compared to PTV awards in 80s. Talk Shows on today’s news channels have one agenda ‘promote depression’. We had talk shows like ‘Yes Sir No Sir’, ‘Studio Dhai’, ‘Studio Ponay Teen’.
I do agree that today’s channels want to fill time slot. be it through Indian movies and awards or Turkish dramas. too much garbage in the name of entertainment
But korn is right back then there was no choice other than watching PTV so there was no rush to produce dramas, they had time for reharsals and there was no competition. With the introduction of dozen channels competition is tough and quality low.Even writers like haseena moin admitted it is difficult to get popular these days.
Umera Ahmed is double MA... Most of the today's directors are owners of media houses and TV channels. They just don't want to experiment. working on glamourised sets and masala stories to make money is their only motive
yes, the only motive of today's producers and channel's owners is to make more and more money. As i mentioned earlier about person who works in a production house, he told me, we were working on a drama and the director was working hard on the project then head of that production house came and said to director " arey bhai agar aise aap time lene lage to ho gaya kaam, bas fatafat poora karo depth ma jaane ki zaroorat nahi".

yes why only dramas if not enough pakistani dramas then foreign dramas, now a days many comedy craps are airing on hum tv and ary on the same bulbulay theme: height of non-professionalism.
I have heard that actors even do shooting for more than one drama per day? It's hard to believe how they fit in those different characters .......maybe just for money?

yeah actually i think you observed also that actors are restricted to certain production houses so they do and even on the same sets
Regardless of the fact that tax has been imposed on foreign productions HUM TV joined the band wagon and has started a Turkish drama recently. Are the really willing to pay that tax per episode? I forgot the amount
lobbying was also part of drama industry during PTV’s gold era. In recent times, many of Kazim Pasha’s projects include Adnan Jilani, Sadia Imam, Ishmal. Ishrat Hashmi was part of almost all the serials of Bajiya, but as PTV had policy of not casting actors for consecutive quarters.. it was not felt much.. ab to na actors break lete hain, na writers, na directors.. thake huwe log, thaki hui productions
So fawad khan is in good hands? Hmm.I even noticed indoor shooting which you were referring to in another thread.Have you watched telefilm Raho ge tum wohe on HUM tv starring shamoon abbasi ?not a single outdoor scene in it
aaj kul dramay popular ya misaal bunnnay k liye nai on air hotay haen its just the time slots which they have to fill. as for hum to pay tax on foreign dramas then they have made a lot of money so uski tension humko laynay ki zaroorat nahi hai
haan ye aur baat hai k aaj kul sitcoms like kollege jeans are desperately needed. pata nahi ye log kyun nahi hit dramas on air kertay… instead of showing crap its better to on air old sitcoms or dramas is say to in ki TRP b bharay gi
Is tarah to zardari or aur politicians ny bhe bohat kamaya laikn phir bhe apni jaib sy kharch ni krty HUM TV bohat farakh dil hy.kollege jeans youtube py dekh lo channel waly to ni lgain gy.

i think it will be too early to say about fawad khan.....well i have not watched the telefilm which you are referring but have already noticed this thing in many dramas, also nabeel gave a punch line in a bulbulay episode to mehmood aslam; " aaein mehmood saab lawn mein chalte hain isi bahane thodi outdoor ki feel bhi aa jaye gi".:D

PTV had to produce 6-7 dramas for each quarter for Prime-Time Only and then competition was between centres (PTV Karachi, PTV Lahore, PTV Quetta, PTV Peshawer and PTV Islamabad). I don't agree with Haseena Moin's comment, as the publicity tools available today if utilised propley can do the wonders. All new channels have made their name by properly utilising those sources. There are sometimes good productions on PTV and Indus, but they don't promote their material properly.
