I think there has been shift… though the characters in old days were very much nearer to reality, today’s characters are somewhat created in vaccuum. Hardly, we find characters to which we can relate. Its either extra liberal upper class women, which doesn’t represent masses or a woman from lower and feudal class from 80s and 90s reincarnated in today’s time. Middle class woman lost its representation in today’s dramas.
