What i mean is that PTV was a state run channel and under a lot of influence of the government. I don’t know how they managed to sneak things like Tanhayian and Aangan Terha under the radar. The writers and directors though were from the educated upper classes and maybe that’s why their content was much more progressive. As compared to the writers now, from what i have found out there mentality seems to be stilted and stuck in the dreams of the 80s 90s lower classes.

Umera Ahmed is double MA… Most of the today’s directors are owners of media houses and TV channels. They just don’t want to experiment. working on glamourised sets and masala stories to make money is their only motive
