do you think that the class creating these plays have changed? A lot of people say that these are middle class or lower class aspirations and we all know that PTV was more or less being run by the ruling class.

PTV was not run by ruling class. consider stalwart director and producers from PTV’s golden era (Qasim Jalali, Mohsin Ali, Sahira Kazmi, Ayub Khawar, Muhammad Nisar Hussain) who belonged to ruling elites? Instead, now wanna be directors like Babar Jawed, Fahim Burney themselves seem to be inspired from likes of Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor’s 500 / 500 crores references.
