Obama's visit to India

Re: Obama's visit to India

That video was run in reverse.

Re: Obama’s visit to India

:rotfl:

Good answer.

What about my previous question about BRICS ?

Re: Obama's visit to India

We deny seeing any such questions.

Re: Obama’s visit to India

I like it when you get so non-political.

Re: Obama’s visit to India

You mean this one :stuck_out_tongue:

I doubt it. Both countries have mutual interests, but commercial and otherwise. US has a trade deficit with India that every US administration will try to reduce. India wants US manufacturers to come to India as part of Modi’s “make in India” initiative. For the US, that will also serve as a counter balance to China.

Re: Obama’s visit to India

Yes.

I like the shawl. My wife wants one just like that.

Frankly, I think America needs India more than India needs America in the new geo-political stage that is setting up in the world these days.

And it’s okay that Modi’s wife wasn’t there to greet Michelle, because people say that Michelle was actually Michael in her early life. :fatee:

Re: Obama's visit to India

If she were Michael, Modi would be hugging her. check out that expression and that shawl... there is a reason Mrs. Modi is not in the picture.

Re: Obama’s visit to India

12-year-old children’s right activist Payal Jangid and Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi met with President Obama in India. Mr. Satyarthi was also one of the keynote speakers at last year’s HT Leadership Summit along with some of India’s top CEOs, cricket and Bollywood stars, as well as foreign leaders like former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and former Afghan president Hamid Karzai. Clearly, he’s held in high esteem in India. And it’s good to see Indians don’t disown their heroes like Mr. Satyarthi despite the fact that as India’s leading advocate against child labor, he’s a reminder that even as India continues to rise, lifting millions of its people out of poverty, problems like exploitation of some children persist and more needs to be done to overcome those problems. Yet he is not being shunned by his fellow countrymen or seen as a conspiracy to defame their country.

And may be the fact that unlike some developing countries, India’s Nobel laureates don’t have to live in exile–fleeing hostilities, hatred and even death threats in their home countries–is one of the reasons why India seems such a welcoming place to outsiders, both world leaders and the millions of tourists who visit India every year.

Re: Obama’s visit to India

That’s true. And I said she was, before she became Michelle.

You mean to say Modi is a ? :hehe:

He did wear a bright pink pagRi type on the rainy parade, didn’t he ? :hmmm:

Re: Obama’s visit to India

And I wish some countries would leave some other countries alone and let them live and prosper, rather than trying to destroy them since day one by any means possible ! :hoonh:

Re: Obama’s visit to India

Yawn, conspiracy theories again. I just think the contrast between the admiration of Nobel laureate Satyarthi in his country versus demonization of, say, Nobel laureate Malala in hers is striking. And rather saddening because both of these individuals are special in their own right and IMHO should be celebrated in their countries.

Re: Obama's visit to India

For your kind info, most Pakistanis do.

I bet you are disappointed to hear that because you always want to see the worst picture of Pakistan. It gives you some sort of smug satisfaction inside, I suppose. :)
