1) well, i just find it amusing that canadians have something to say without looking at their own track record, so a little reality check is always good.

I live in chicago, I have met Rahm Emmanuel, I am familiar with his record, and I knew these things about him before you knew his name, so please dont give me these breaking news. the point still stands, I am not sure where the crime of the father applies to the son. as I said, hanging on to that argument is not helping your credibility any.

I was waiting for this thread to pop up. And when it did I knew some would judge the man for being Jewish and not for his values nor his vision which by those who gave negative reponses did exactly that. Not a surprise.

That reality, as an artist that you are, maybe you might comprehend better than most people - but I don't think you do from the message that you just posted.
The leader might be black, he might even be a Muslim - the reality don't change. The kings of saudi arabia are Muslim, is their oppression justified? The same way, Obama is just another one from the factory. They've him smarter, eloquent, handsome with a cherry on top, than Bush - but that don't change a thing.

I don't really wish to get involved with American politics and I am least cite about Obama winning, no offence, but the point risen here is an interesting one. The gene or the actions of a father does indeed influence the son. There is scientific evidence that the child of a person with a higher IQ ends up with the same gift naturally. Look at Fischer, he had great spacial ability and his paternal father was a physict, a subject where people with exceptional spacial ability excel. All the great theories one reads in physics were formulated before actual evidence appeared on the scene and that requires a great spacial ability. Now, take for example, George W. Bush Sr., it was his utmost desire to go after Iraq during the Iraq-Kuwait war and what does Jr. do? I can't come up with one sane reason for American to be in Iraq. So in a way the actions of a father does inspire a child. And the gene is carried to the childerns. There is a growing consensus that alcoholism is inherited. There are even papers published on criminal minds or serial killers having the genetic factor. I looked up a few published report on New York times and I'm sure there is more material in the academic databases. Anyways I believe we should have a more open approach when it comes to science then being in denial. The rest whatever you are talking about, I could care less.

The one thing I am confused about is do any of you know how governments function? 1 man does not decide how an entire country is run. Nope. The technical expert sitting in the State Department, Defence Department, USTR etc etc. He/she gives a briefing and policy options. They go to his/her boss and up the ladder or chain of command to the President.
The president gets a filtered version of the options as seen through the lens of the necessary and relevant state department.
The US is not leaving Iraq or Afghanistan for the next 3 years.
