There are many in the US advocating for cutting ties with Pakistan. I think that would suit Pakistan just fine, but I’m not sure how that will help the US or the American interest in the region.

This article doesn’t talk about cutting ties, but if this ‘ties’ is related to govt-govt/military support for ‘candy-for-war-support’ then sure go ahead and cut it, but it should not go beyond.
