I can’t believe that USAF or USN can’t take out some toyota pickups in the desert.

The problem is that with anything in middle east, especially wrt Syria, the israelis have a huge say. Assad is serving their purpose (supports hezbollah, gets bombed w/o any response) and they don’t know what would come if Assad is gone tomorrow. Libya got bombed for just moving tanks towards Benghazi and if US wanted to do anything, they could invoke article 5 / 6? of NATO considering the fact that Turkey, a NATO member, has been shelled and syria has had violated its airspace in the past.

They just want chaos in Syria and to force ISIS towards Assad’s forces.

Its funny when people take moral high grounds in the game of economics.

This battle with insurgents seems asymmetrical in nature. A disturbing quagmire. Looks like this stalemate will continue for some time, unless all major players compromise on a solution.
