i am sanwali and i wear nude lipstick quite alot but in a more orangey/peachy tone and i think it looks nice

That depends on how sanwali you are…If you are really brown i dont think peachy lips would suit…To me it doesnt and im sanwali!

I kinda have to agree with Jolie here. I find nude lipstick makes me look washed out, unless it's accompanied by smokey-type eyes. I find it looks even better if I have some sort of colour on my cheeks as well. I use "Hug me" by Mac, which I absolutely love! I also find that pinkish tones are a little more forgiving than true beiges (at least on me.)

Okay I admit that's hwat I was under the impression of...that nude is a beige/brown that's supposed to suit your skin tone...NOT the natural color of your lips...

the only "nude" i have is Mac's velvet teddy and I was looking thru my pics...it looks a little peachy pink on me...but I think it looks nice. If I'm wearing the lipcolor alone, I'll mix it with another lipstick or gloss tho.

i totally forgot i had a nude liptsick wich i think would be perfect for desi skin tones, it's called Nude Almond by Estee Lauder (it's a Pure color gloss stick) i wore it yesterday i forgot how pretty it was !

In my opinion not many desis suit nude lips. Some white girls look horrible too. I'm fair and I don't think I suit some nude colours. They make me look like a ghost. I'm talking about the beigey nude lipcticks btw.

okay all you girls complaining :D if you have yellowish undertones and want a nude lipstick:

Get Josie Maran's argan infused lipstick in "birthday suit" it is very clsoe to a nude and looks great with eyeliner and blush.

it is no longer sold at sephora, but it is on her website. and i love it myself. it is very very nice, but again you need the yellowish undertones. you can couple it with a pinker lipstick underneath and apply this on top or put foundation on your lips (just like your face) and then put it on top.

you are so right, I think its harder for ppl with yellow undertones such as desi girls to pull of the nude lipstick...thanks for the lipstick suggestion ill go check it out...

nude lipsticks look soo nice on arab/persian girls though, they usually have yellow undertones too...and they have dark hair like us..??

hmm what i like doing sometimes is i take a beigish neutral shade of lipliner but it's not too pale, and i put some lip balm on top, so not only i get the "as if i'm not wearing lipstick effect" and yet it defines my lips

This is a gorgeous look.. I see a lot of Iranian girls with the smokey eyes + nude lips as well (but often plumped right up)..
