A lot of nice girls are. Remember, girls aren't allowed to be out till 2 or 3 am, like desi guys. And they're not allowed to date, unlike desi guys.

So these websites are FULL of really nice eligible women, in fact, I look at their profiles, and wish I was a guy.

Just by commenting on some pic she’s posted or replying to some comment she’s made to start a conversation..

I see it everyday.. and some of the guys and girls are gorgeous end very eligible..

Some desis think anything new or different from their way of doing things is ‘desperate’

If you want to meet people outside your circle you have to talk to strangers.. and yeah even that in itself is cosidered ‘desperate’ by some..

Well hold up.

what does being out till 2 or 3am have anything to do with finding people? There are plenty of opportunities for human contact during normal hours.

If these "nice girls" know they're not allowed to date, wouldn't being on these sites (I'm assuming with out their parents' permission) be a bad move either way? Aside to avoid the risk of zinnah, i'd guess parents don't allow their children to date so they didn't have any sort of emotional attachment/ relationship before marriage... Making these matrimonial websites kind of pointless/ waste of time/ not going to be easily accepted by the parent.

I'm sure there are as many creepy/ odd women as there are nice eligible men. Judging a person by their profile is just foolish.

Trolls exist all over the internet. I could make a profile and call my self a unicorn riding rainbow princess. Doesn't mean it'd be true... maybe.

One of my friends from work was a normal guy who's mother forced him to set up one of those accounts when she was having trouble finding a girl for him.

The site put him in touch with a girl. Email and phone correspondence followed and he was feeling excited about it for a few days.... then he abruptly said it was over and he would be shutting down his account. Turned out that he discovered the girl expected him to

1) Get laser surgery to remove his glasses
2) Shave off his beard
3) Quit his job, leave his family (he was the only son and his dad was dead) , and move to her city
4) Start working out and become more buff

I contacted a girl over twitter once. I even went over to her place and cooked breakfast for her, but did she appreciate it? No! She just started screaming and asked me how I found out where she lived, and to get out of her home. Women you meet online don't appreciate real romance.

She could have politely declined the interest, by electronically clicking "decline".

'Normal' guys use Twitter (and in the past Facebook)..

Literally every other guy I know has pulled some girl from there..

I have literally never heard of anyone picking anyone up on twitter

^I know so many.. seems just as common (if not more) than meeting someone on a night out..

Normal is a very subjective issue. It is important to see a person for who he is and assess if you will be a good mix. If it isn't well you can always find a new person somewhere. That is why after all divorce was created.
