Well my mother is from the bordering area of Punjab...district Rawalpindi...but the lineage is from the fathers side.

Both my gradparents from father's side and mother side moved to punjab from the Indian Occupied Kashmir, some of the sibblings i.e my aunts and uncles, settled in Mirpur, others in the punjab. Thats my MP and Kashmir connection :)

Which part of Kashmir were your grand parents from - Srinagar Valley, Poonch, Jammu?

A lot of people especially from Jammu have settled in Sialkot in Punjab.

You qualify as a Kashmiri but I am not sure about being a Mirpuri...if your parents have never lived there...anyway you are a credit to Pakistan.

Btw where in Punjab did your grandparents settle?

Have you ever had a chance to visit the other side?

I know few people who originally came from Rajoori, Anantanag.....

Do you know a lot of Kashmiris from occupied Kashmir had leading positions in Pakistan politics and military e.g. ex PAF cheif Air Marshall Asghar Khan I believe is from Jammu, Sheikh Rasheed his family is from Srinagar and Tahir Naqash ex Pakistan crickter who is settled in UK/Lahore, his family also came from Srinagar and the list is endless.
