Mirpur....our farmland lies under the dam.

Cool You don't live that far form us.. like an hours drive maybe. I have passed through Mirpur ont he way to and form Lahore.. .. All i remember is eccelectic houses.. huge huge koti's and loads of adverts for mumtaz milkshakes :) I have many mirpuri friends.. they're dilaect is different from what we speak at home and they can't speak Gaujri which is a Kashmiri dialect but you can meet all types of people form one area.. One of my closest friends is Mirpuri and he's adorable mash'allah

It is a wealthy area, with big koti's built. Funny thing is that many of them live in the UK and pay Pathans to live at these Kotis and look after them. A lot Pathans have moved into the area. The dialect is more or less the same as Jhelum, and many Mirpuris are married to people from Jhelum and vice versa. For people that are not familiar with the area just think of Jhelum. In fact many Mirpuris probably moved to Jhelum during the time that the dam was built.

No.. We are from Kotli... But travel to Lahore alot.. Never been to jhelum either.. Been past the dam.. It is awesome.

Even peeps in Kotli have different dialects.. My dada jaan’s house is further away from kotli.. 2 miles from the border of India and Pakistan.. in Kashmir.. But our own home is In Kotli..

I know but people often say they are from Kotli even though they may not be from the town itself but villages in that district.
