I will not agree with his statement that Pakistan is not threatened with taleban ideology, I don’t think that they can take over the country as well. And I do believe that the policies of the previous and present regime has pushed some people who would have been neutral otherwise to the other side. I am pretty sure that even the taleban would have been tired of all this, and the ordinary people have also seen their real face of taleban which should ensure that the taleban don’t return.

Even if we get out of the war does not necessarily means that we should pull out the forces from the affected areas. If the reasons for creation of taleban are removed, the situation might improve but still it will take some time to get rid of this menace.

Taleban need to be isolated with the help of local public and the lives of the affected people need to be improved through education, health and job opportunities. The seccesionist movements in eastern India have died down with the improvement in economy there. A multipronged strategy is required to get rid of this scourge once for all.

You’ve been arguing in several threads proposing the same multipronged strategy that combines armed and non-armed responses. That isnt different from the rhetoric, atleast, of the current admin. Nevertheless you can find flaws in their policies. You can say it hasnt worked so far, or that their policies were implemented poorly or with double intentions, and you would be right and have no argument from me. I am far from happy with how the Taliban have been fought.

But there are plenty of severe problems in Pakistan. We’ve been officially trying to eliminate corruption and poverty for decades. We’ve been officially trying to improve our healthcare system and economy for decades. And you can always prescribe different policies to handle these issues.

But what IK sahab does is start saying polio isnt a disease. We can solve poverty and starvation by saying we dont have a problem with poverty and starvation as thats just an advanced dieting program. Corruption can be eliminated by legalizing it. Thats the problem, not that he is an ideas man, but that he has a remarkable appetite for accepting (and defending) the unacceptable.
