No sign of Americans in Baghdad

It's a toss up between the Bush's and Saddam deciding who's allegedly killed the most civilians Imdud... to be honest like.

Maybe we should let Russians conduct this war and then their will 2 Iraqis left alive after Russians are done with it.

War is about killing, but America goes out of its way not to harm civllians. Anyone who cannot see this is blinded by his or her hatred of America.

I quite agree, but they go out of their way to target 'civilians' by the looks of most new reports.........I only believe what I see Immy......all I see is civilians getting brutally murdered by the Americans, but to be fair no 'civillians' killed.

What reports are these? Saddam Network News? Maybe we should send China, India, Russia, or even France to fight this war. Lets see how many civilians they save.

Yes what reports?

I would have thought there would be very little chance of any civilians getting killed if the Russians, French and the Chinese went on in there…as they are wholly opposed to the war…no?

The Indians?...well I really don’t think spicy food is an emergency requirement I think basic nutrition should be primarily addressed followed by the mildest of curries if necessary.

What reports? Hmm let me see the Baghdad markets, Basra, Umm Qasr etc etc .

The Iraqi Disinformation Minister is no longer a credible source, hate to tell you guys.

Just going into baghdad doesn’t mean US has taken the war. U shd know that as of now US is controlling only o few small cities. All their supply lines are under extreme resistance. Their is heavy fighting in basra, nasiriyah, najaf, divania, hillah, karbela, and many others. In terms of gaining control of the counry, they hardly are the winners.

It mite not be v.truthful but defintely much more then the likes of pentagon, white house and ur beloved cnn/nbc/fox etc. Their information was quite accurate in the last gulf war, a fact acknowledged by “honest” journalists like robert fisk, john pilger, haroon siddique, etc. Not that they are saints or anything, but less of a liars then aaron brown, wolf blitzer and company.

ur problem is that ur probably so much in love with western media. Just by showing a blurry picture of a mosque and an empty street doesn’t mean that street is in baghdad. read foreign media, that will give u a better idea.

and who was the one who said american forces are trying “exteremely” hard to avoid civilian casualties. Plsssss man don say something that sounds so ridiculous.

I'm afriad he is as non-credible as the US and UK terrorists, after all we all know they are adept at passing off forged and plagirised reports as fact? On day one of this war they claimed they had taken the port of Umm Qasr, and kept claiming that for nearly a week yet heavy fighting continued and it was only till day seven that they had actually taken it. So disinformation and lies are all around...

:hehe: Exactly!!

And Wolf bliter/Larry king are a credible source?

I laugh at you:hehe:

We’re even then, Proud Paki, because I laugh at you as well. Here’s a read
US forces mass near Baghdad from the BBC that describes the American foray into Baghdad. While you were posting threads that showed “no signs of Americans in Baghdad”, the American tanks and Bradley armoured fighting vehicles were roaming the streets, taking out 2,000-3,000 Iraqi soldiers.

The coalition terrorists have a hard enough time trying not to kill their own troops, let alone civilians.

Inevitably America will reach Baghdad.

However, what you will see next week and the week after, are news reports confirming that America has just reached Baghdad.

I'm sure Basra was taken 14 days ago or something!

Al Jazeera eloquently hit the nail on the head by stating:

'Dirty war' allegations cut both ways.

The first US plane landed at Baghdad Int'l Airport while Iraqi information minister is saying that it is still under their control.

This guy is living in another world!

All day yesterday we were told by the Generals of the Terrorist army that they were in central Baghdad and they were their to stay. Then they left and called it a foray. Could it be that despite having full command of the air these terrorists were beaten back and were forced to leave. Now they have called for reinforcements. Imagine if the palying field was level and the Iraqis even had half the stuff these generals have. They would all by now going home in body bags.

It is the same like the world was told two weeks ago that the British troops were in the centre of Basra.

They tell the world not what is going on but what they wished was going on.

These lying generals are living in another world.

They never said they were their to stay. It is was a probing mission.

Even the notorious leftwing paper is calling the Iraqi disinformation minister a liar. Undoubtedly those who beleive him are the ones that are still screaming “show me the proof”, and believing that 9/11 was a Jewish plot:

Defiant misinformation minister still fighting on media frontline

Combative stand and colourful turns of phrase at daily briefings have made Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf an unlikely star

Ian Black
Monday April 7, 2003
The Guardian

It was another tough day in front of the cameras for Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf. But if the Iraqi minister of information was feeling the strain now that the war has reached Baghdad, he certainly wasn’t showing it.
Neat as ever in his rimless spectacles, green Ba’ath party uniform and black beret, the man who is Saddam Hussein’s mouthpiece continued to spin loyally for his elusive master yesterday.

“This aggression will end in failure,” he said, warning Baghdadis to beware of rumours and lies. “After its destruction, Iraq will remain and it will be led by President Saddam Hussein. This regime will not be destroyed by mercenaries.”

Enemy troops, Mr Sahaf insisted to the now familiar forest of microphones at his noon press conference in the city’s Palestine Hotel, had been hit by Iraqi missiles in the battle around Saddam International airport.

“We butchered the force present at the airport,” he announced. But he did not mention any Iraqi casualties.

Mr Sahaf has become an unlikely media star, combining defiant and abusive language with a subtle awareness of the power of TV propaganda.

He is a master of plain-speaking, Ba’athist style, and appears to have few doubts about his own credibility, despite mounting evidence that much of what he says is quite untrue. He spends most of his time accusing the US and Britain of lying.

Last Wednesday, for example, he denied that American forces had crossed the Tigris. “They lie every day,” he said. “Therefore what they say or allege about success and ad vances in Najaf and Kerbala are illusions. They also said they crossed the Tigris, which is another lie. As is what they said about Kut.”

Now in his early 60s, Mr Sahaf was studying to be an English teacher in 1963 when he joined a group led by Saddam that targeted opponents of the then underground Ba’ath party.

In 1968, when the Ba’ath party took power, he was charged with securing the radio and television stations and was later put in charge of both outlets. Iraqis recall his bad temper and habit of meting out physical punishment to employees.

Later he served as Iraq’s ambassador to India, Italy and the United Nations, foreign minister from 1993 to 2001, and has been information minister since then.

Subliminal messages are interwoven with his cruder points. In two briefings last week, he compared the US and Britain to the Roman Empire, speaking about Roman soldiers who stole from people at night only to offer them protection the next day - clearly suggesting that the objective of the war is to control Iraq’s oil wealth under the pretext of ridding the country of Saddam.

Mr Sahaf is not part of the president’s inner circle but he has played an important role in formulating Iraq’s terminology for the conflict. “The international gang of outlaws,” is one phrase he has coined to refer to George Bush and Tony Blair. “Crooks”, “mercenaries”, “fools”, “stooges” and “racists” are also favourites.

His mixture of bombast, exaggerations and lies raises intriguing questions about how much ordinary Iraqis know about what is happening at this fateful moment. Late last week he was still scoffing at reports that US forces were at the gates of Baghdad.

“They have no foothold in Iraq,” he told reporters. “We will welcome them with bullets and shoes.” Being hit with a shoe is a grave insult in the Arab world.

Mr Sahaf has singled out the US defence secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, describing him as a “crook” and “the most despicable creature”.

“I am sorry for using such language,” he said in a recent interview on one of the Arab satellite stations that broadcast his briefings and have made him a star across the Middle East, “but with criminals who are killing the sons of our people with bombs, insults are not enough.”

If you are going to quote from the Guardian, please tell us the FULL story i.e. what they think of US propoganda as well. Remember it was thanks to the Guardian and like that Anglo-American lies, forgeries and plaigirisms were exposed. :)

Seminole: The Iraqi Disinformation Minister is no longer a credible source

I actually enjoy him and his language. Quite a funny person. Just wonder where he gets his info from....
