hiccup- You can’t adopt it. It is *natural. *You may well go through some transition though. :halo:
TNWB- I don’t know what you mean by ‘not a requirement’, but asexuality is not having sexual attraction towards anyone. Is intellectual growth always accompanied by diminshed libido? Not necessarily, but you can channel your energies into other things. Again, it doesn’t mean that celibate or asexual people are any more intelligent or capable than ‘sexual’ beings. 
**Noor- **Hormonally induced asexuality is not natural. You’re right. When I talked about a distinct community, I only talked in terms of their (lack of) orientation. It doesn’t make them better or worse. Thanks for hosting my thread. I really don’t know if the idea is great or not, but I wanted to share it.
Sara- People can’t live without oxygen; can’t live without food; but can live without sex. Some of them can also live without the desire to have sex. Let’s call them asexuals. According to some surveys almost one in every hundred persons is asexual.

You'd have to ask one of their representatives to know their opinion. To me, sexual orientation or lack of orientation is not genetic. At least, not in the overwhelming majority of the members forming these different groups. Apparently, it contradicts 'it's natural' theory. But, perhaps, what they call natural is something in their perspective and not in their genes. What can I say! We all created this problem when we supported the myth of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
