i guess i'm biased because my wedding dress is coming from Nilofer Shahid! i've just been thoroughly happy with the time she's given me over the phone considering i'm in the US and she's a million miles away and not many designers have been as responsive considering how "big" she is. HSY barely batted his eyelashes at the idea of working with me, and my aunt is very good friends with him! our conversations included the amount of research her staff and herself do on learning about the various moghul periods, her influences and inspiration including Islamic Art, and it's really a matter of personal taste. one of my jhoras is some chantilly lace that's a piece she bought in paris, but even if its from Lahore (which i highly doubt), i'm sure she'll do something to it that i wouldn't have thought.
this collection is overall a bit toooo traditional for me. i'm ready to see more of her modern flair now!
I like your lehnga is very beautiful, its gonna be very similiar or almost like the one resham wore in a event!

i have a chantilly lace sari....and you can find that particular lace from bridal fabric stores ..just need to look at the right ones..
there is the metallic chantilly lace and the plain one..but you can certainly get them from couture fabric stores...
La Perla (lingerie company) uses it for its undergarments :)
afashionista, i know that you've probably decided already, but I say go for it. my friend got a similar outfit for her wedding, except she got a red halter top and more work. and yes the proportions looked way better than the example you've provided...good luck!

Ummmm i guess everyone has their own taste, i personally think its ugly..sorry it may look nice on u....dnt like the cuts or style...
then again if someone told me the karma dress i love was ugly id be really sad...im sorry i dnt mean to hurt feelings....if u love it and have a budget of 9000 then go for it....altho u cud get somthing better...u jst will never have the satisfaction of not having the dress YOU wanted :(

here’s a pic from bridal pics forum with a yellow/gold top. the portions look better, although she’s sitting down, so there’s no way to tell. i think that if the girl (from the pic you first posted) had a longer top, it wouldn’t have looked as disproportionate.

i love nilofer shahid! she is doing both my wedding and valima dresses. they are from the noor jehan collection/josephine collection. she gave me AMAZING customer service over the phone, and after umteen phone calls, she's still willing to help me decide colors/fabrics and is by my favorite designer - which is probably why i'm going with her! once my wedding comes in May, i'll post a picture or two. unless people get crazy on this site. ha.

this is def. nilofer shahid i have seen this one in another color version at her studio.. her bridals run along from 4 lakhs to 6-8 lakhs.. unjustified TO ME..
also i cant get over the fact that she claimed a fabric to be from Paris when it was from fajr cloth house in cavalry lol - an the guy sold it to me saying as a usp that nilfer shahid bought seix thaaannss.. heheh

okieee so i took some time out and searched my fb albums :") alot of my friends have had dresses from nilofer.. tome personally she is good at what she does, but toally OVER PRICED! so here goes…
the one dress with two pics is a couple of monts ago.. wedding day btw not walima, i love that she went for NOT red.
the other two 2 years ago -ish LOVE the bridal dress, thats what took me to her .
