Re: Is it worth it?
my cousin just placed an order for a bridal with Nilofer and it is definitely not costing her that much money.
to me that dress is definitely not worth the price tag, but to each their own right.
Re: Is it worth it?
I honestly don't find it that impressive at all.....but hey to each their own.
its not worth it. theres better stuff available from various other designers at half the price or less.
Re: Is it worth it?
thats wayyy too much for that outfit! get it copied!
sorry guys for asking this stupid questions again n again..
why does designers alwaays tell different rates?! thats sooooo stupid !!
n yeah this suit isnt 6lak rupees walaah...get another one...i think u will get a better outfit in this price class :)
Re: Is it worth it?
some of nilofer's stuff is gorgeous and you know you won't be able to copy it (at least not well). this is not one of those imo.
i'm sure you could get a very nice copy for much less of this (even if you spent a bit extra on fabric and kaam) OR spend that $9000 getting something stunning from another designer.
Re: Is it worth it?
IMO it's not worth it cuz i dont like this dress much at all. However, its your wedding and if you absolutely love it and can afford it then go for it.
Re: Is it worth it?
if you have $9000 to spare, pay bunto a visit. this outfit isn't worth that much and like someone else here said, it would be fairly easy to have copied.
Re: Is it worth it?
HELL NO
SORRYa its yukky, i woudnt even wear that even if it was FREE......
Re: Is it worth it?
Nope not at all IMO this dress is not worth that much at all.
Re: Is it worth it?
thank you girls so much.
i actually really appreciate the honesty. my sister got married so long ago that i'm just out of touch and have no idea what the prices are for a heavy/medium heavy bridal. i just figured when you're spending thousands of dollars on an outfit, you'd get quality, the timeless factor and the brand name. i don't particularly care for the brand name part, but you might as well get what you paid for.
SGC - i'm paying a visit to Bunto. she's kind enough to make an exception for me because my wedding is next May and i'm meeting her in October. she's doing a favor for my aunt, but i just don't wanna feel forced to becoming a 'bunto bride,' in case i'm not head over heels in love with what i see.
in anycase, thank you for the feedback!
Re: Is it worth it?
^ definitely don't feel forced! i've heard nothing but good things about the Bunto experience, but if Nilofer Shahid is whom you love, and you'll be in town, pay her a visit in person. i'll bet you she brings the price of the outfit down and/or you might see something else on offer thats even more beautiful :)
i think that outfit for $9000 is what's making me balk- if you were to get the outfit for $2000 then personally, i'd find it would be worth it as i do think its beautiful.
Re: Is it worth it?
i agree with paying nilofer a visit too.
also, i think part of the reason people are not in favour of this outfit is because on this bride, it looks rather awkward. as you can see, the fitting is really bad. i'm sure it could look a LOT better.
i also love mehdi's stuff. have a look see if you like any of his designs?
Re: Is it worth it?
also on a side note, if you are paying $2000 or above, the fabric should at least show it...
its anything but luxurious, imho the fabric looks very paindoo. if no one had told me, i would have never guessed its nilofer.
or if you want to spend above $2000, maybe you could see Umer Sayeed? Not a lot of brides have the money to get one of his bridals, so his stuff isnt as common, and at $9000, I bet you could get a gorgeous, original one from him.

i completely agree with you about the fitting. i'm wondering if it had anything to do with the fact that maybe she didn't go for a proper fitting? it just surprises me that something THAT important would have been missed, so i'm convincing myself that she must have lost a ton of weight before the wedding!?
my engagement outfit was a mohd mehdi. i felt it was VERY overpriced and even though its beautiful and elegant and romantic, i'm not sure if the kaam can compete with the other big name designer houses. (the engagement outfit was ordered over the phone, since i had no time to get a sample, etc)
thanks for all the advice! you guys are awesome. i almost want to invite you all to my wedding. i'll at least post some pictures for you all :))
Re: Is it worth it?
np. good luck for your big day!
Re: Is it worth it?
im sure you could get all of ur clothes made in that price bracket - i would definitely pay a visit to some other designers - they can always work with ur budget - i personally dnt think its worth paying over $2000 for a dress ur only gna wear maybe 2 times - i got an HSY copy made for 75000rps from Pindi and it was gorgeous! i changed around the kaam a little to suit my needs but in total both my lehnga's were 125000 rps -
if you have the money - then buy it!
