hmm ok, sorry?!

I had a simple nikkah in the masjid during Ramadhan. So when I entered the masjid halls and saw all the ladies from his family sitting in the room waiting for me, something came over me. I got so nervous and started to cry in the hall way, and all the ladies could see me standing there crying, then one of his cousin and my friend came to me, and my family ladies were with me as well. I already looked like crap because I was wearing such a ugly dupata and the suit wasn’t showing because of abaya. Then I went to the bathroom, and because of all those tears, my face looked even worst then before! Then I entered the room and it was so awkward because no one knew how to handle me, but I said salaams to everyone and all that hug-shug stuff. Then we all sat down around the room and the lectures started about marriage etc. and it was cool because there was some really good Sheikh’s from South Africa, Saudi and India, so everyone was all excited that I was being married off by such pious and well known Sheikh’s. Little did everyone know that all these three men were about to give an hour lecture each. So my emotions all died down since the lectures were SO long, and everyone just sat around in silence listening, some understood only english, some only urdu. Eventually the kids gave up and started to play and my friend came next to me and we started to do things on her iPhone…then FINALLY they started with the nikkah process and we listened. Then it was done and I felt nothing.
My mother-in-law began to tear up and cry and everyone went to her giving her mubarak and again with the hugs-shugs. There I was sitting, llaughing with my cousins about how long the lecture went on for, then eventually people came up to me to give me mubarak…then my cousin told me to go meet my mother in law, so I went and everyone began to stare at us. When we hugged, everyone just stared so we hugged even longer (I’m laughing while I write this lol)
Then eventually everyone went home (everyone insisted I meet my finace but I didn’t want to, felt so shy and awkward because I felt like everyone was looking at my every move.)
Then evening time, my in-laws arranged a iftari in the masjid for everyone. So my family figured I should go dressed up, and I had no intention to do so. My house wasn’t close by so I didn’t even have my fancy dresses with me, except my sister rbought a blue UGLY lehnga along (like super old and ugly!)
I wore it and went to the masjid, to find everyone in their abaya’s. Even those who don’t wear abaya were in them so I felt like a total idiot. They have a chair for me to sit in but I felt weird that I was in a masjid room, and everyone was sitting on the floor and eating. So I sat down too and ate like a cow
Then my husband* took me home

and that is my nikkaified story. I know this wasn’t what you meant when you asked for “how you felt” but meH.

Hehe no that was kinda boring but still cute :D.
