I got married in Lahore, Pakistan and our Nikkah nama was issued in Urdu. When we got the Nikkah registered in the relavant Lahore district, they also issued an English Nikkahnama.
I went to the Goethe Institute in Lahore and got it translated into German, since the Austrian embassy required that to issue a visa for my wife.
And here in Austria that German translation of the Goethe Institute is accepted as legal marriage certificate at all official bodies. So we did not re-register our marriage here.
