Re: night before last night
**Lafanter **at my request has very kindly shared the discussion he had with that person and permitted me to post it here with some editing.
This is being posted here to spark a healthy discussion about self improvement. We live in Western countries and the people around us have their justified or unjustified perception about us.
Now it is our job to improve ourselves in view of these feedbacks we receive which give us a chance to view ourselves through the eyes of others. If these perceptions are ill founded then we can defend ourselves as Lafanter did very graciously and eloquently.
he said u r very well and soft spoken, well manered, well dressed and u dont stink infact u smell good u r not a paki , ahmm ahmm
i replied that all the five fingers are not of the same length he said: i have seen all 5 mate.. . i have grown up in pakistanis and indians
i said: may be u r mixing up some other nationalities with pakistanis . then he said after the war there were no men left between 18 and 40 in england so they came up with a plan to get ppl from overseas and bla bla he said: now many pakistanis live on govt welfare .. . they dont work .. their grown up kids have become thugs and drugies .. . they have double standards. . . some ranting abt women like they dont treat women equally. . . and they say something else and do some thing else .. .and they are living on govt benfits and our taxes .. . he said my father died in that war. . my grand father died in that war .. my brother died in that war. . . we always worked hard and payed taxes no matter ho bad the times were.. . we never claimed any benefits from the govt .. . and these pakis are living on our hard earned money i said: well there could be few pakistanis and some other nationalities u r mixing up. . . he said: what ever man .. i left england and moved to australia for the very reason .. .rising tensions between communities .. racism. . . he said: that place is very dangerous, we have ppl with extremely opposite positions on issues then he talked abt saudia arabia and how arogant they are. . then he said u came to our country and do any thing u like u have freedom of religion .. . can i go and drink in ur country i said yes drink as much at ur home .. .same as in UK drink at home or pubs but not on streets or in public. . then he said u r practicing u r religion and preaching it .. .can i do that in ur country . .. i couldnt ans that bit . . . any way this was a new angle to view things viewing thru their eyes he said alot more, one of em is "thank god u got rid of that arrogant inzimam"

I have blue eyes too during the daytime, whats the big deal? ![]()
As far as Pakistani community in the states is concerned…I dont want to rip on them even more BUT I will say that we lack what my parents call eka. Unfortunately, we dont have much unity in our community. We dont support each other as much as we should.
Thats not to say we’re all bad either. We’ve got a lot of wonderful things about us also.
who said its a big deal, lol

Re: night before last night
Lafanter, this man sounds like a bigot and a racist. He is so narrow minded that he cannot see the whole picture. Does he really believe that the whole of England is like living in Leicester?
Leicester is a town or city about an hour or so away from Birmingham. It is (as far as I know) populated mainly by Indians and Pakistanis. I have observed that where there is a dense population of immigrants from Pakistan concentrated in one area, the community can become polarised. In this case, white people stick to white people and dislike / resent the presence of immigrants, the immigrants stick to their own ethnic group and end up living in eachothers pockets (figure of speech). Also white people who can afford to do so will move out of the area over the years, replaced by more of the ethnic group. Usually what happens is the poor white people with no job prospects / education are the ones who get left behind, and feel bitter about it.
The rest of England where INTEGRATION takes place is not bad, but maybe this man has never seen the rest of England.
