zb7779---sumone told me about this gunsmoke eating place a yr a go..or more than that...
it sounded like a fun place to go and eat..isnt it sumthing like u have to throw bomb type things to call the waiter or sumthin..!
I wish i could go there jus rite noW!

It is exactly that kind of place. They also have one in Lahore. These waiters walk around in cow boy outfits with attitude and basically slam you food and drinks on the table. I was going to Chen One one night and saw this place from the street. I liked the place and the food. Try it some time and let us know your thoughts.

I think people who ish to visit Karachi should atleast to the following tour.

Start with Clifton beach ride a camel on the beach if you wish or just wath arong then drive to Defense Mosque Visit the mosque its worth visiting built in 1969 a lrge 212 feed diameter dome can house upto 5000 people decorated with 70000 mirrors in the roof and 768000 pieces of onyx marble on the walls. Later drive to Jinnah Mausoleum have lunch in Saddar and visit Bohri bazaar then drive to Garden visit the zoo if you want or see the busses and truck painting later drive to Lee market and visit juna market and possibly sarafa bazaar. Drive back to your hotel or visit national museum. Evening eat at BBQ tonight at clifton.

Welll Gun Smoke is the latest addition to the numerous eateries opening up in Karachi its Located at Zamzama

The interior reminds one of old cowboy movies, wild wild west, country songs, etc. The table mats carry a warning for the visitors saying �rude waiters� and rightly so. The waiters ARE rude. Not too rude but it sorta� takes one by surprise when they throw the menu cards on the table! The whole setting is really different from what we get to see at the regular restaurants, no posh setting, abstract art work, sofas or delicate furniture. The floor is wooden, the place is crowded, there are wooden benches and tables, and even the main counter bears the look of a bar right out of �the Alamo�!

Coming to the real deal, the food! It�s actually quite good and not that heavy on the pocket either. The menu is not very different from those of its neighbouring eateries. You know, the usual burgers, pastas, etc but they taste really good. As for the rudeness of the waiters, don�t be surprised if they decide to pick french fries from your table or speak in a mean tone (we got a �do you want anything else?� that sounded more like an order than a query!). The place was packed to capacity with people waiting outside for their turn. The waiters roam around in their cowboy suits and hats (the hats are really cool!) giving the whole place a very �casual� look.
I�ve heard the Lahore Gun Smoke is very popular, let�s see how the Karachiites treat it� :blush:

Try Nihari at Riaz Masjid. It is located in PECHS behind Tariq Road.

The best Nihari.
