PCG
I have worked quite extensively with the Human Development Foundation. Its not a women's right group but focuses on poverty alleviation and education, much of the focus is on enablement of women by providing them means to particpate in cottage industries through small busines sloan programs, as well as education.
There are many other quality groups including hamdard, edhi etc. One interestng group I have heard about is WAR war against r ape, but dont know much about the group.
Re: NGO work in Pakistan

Re: NGO work in Pakistan
Actually i should not blame you for this ignorance as you do not live in pakistan… In reality, Jamat-e-Islamic is doing much bigger welfare work in the courntry than you can imagine. Its network is very wide and it has very effective organization at grassroot level. Those living in pakistan never deny the good work done by the organization, its just that the leadership is tooo political and hypocrite in nature that is nullifies the good repute in people’s mind.
The current Nazim (mayor ) of Karachi is from Jamat-e-Islami. Mojority of elected representative at lower level who belong to JI have good repute, becuse they are less curropt and do some work for community
