I don’t watch news on TV. I avoid reading about Pakistani politics, too much stupidity.
Aside from that, I read any news or op-ed that’s interesting.
About the news being stressing, reading about the economy doing poorly is depressing
Used to be an op ed junkie. Now most have gone right of center.

Key is to be a seeker of Truth. Seek it, accept it, do something to make the world a better place. Go against the grain when appropriate. Stay away from the herd when situation calls for it. Be an independent thinker. Don’t do what is convenient for your community at the expense of others. Do what is fair for EVERYONE.
Soak in writings of thinkers who are streets ahead of the status quo. Do what’s right EVEN if it seemingly goes against best interest of your community. Be a sponge for information, not mis- information.

It’ll depress me so I end up taking a break from it. Then when I feel like I’ve been living under a rock, I’ll catch up on it.
