Wow this is an old thread! I was going to quote someone but decided not to when I saw the date!
I don't know about anyone else, but IMO, it's actually a good thing that the Indian media are open to all kinds of beauty. The actresses and models are not just the fair-skinned, tall, and skinny girls anymore. They actually have dusky complexioned women (Bipasha Basu, Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra, etc) as well as the what most people would call "average" looking girls like Kajol who have become truly successful and loved by the public. It's good to see that everyone is considered beautiful in the industry.. it really helps build a positive image for normal girls. Unlike Pakistan, where you'd have to search far and wide for a supermodel or a successful actresses who isn't light-skinned and fits only one mold of "beauty".
Just MHO. I still love Pakistan :)
Totally agree.
I love Bipasha and I couldn't imagine her ever getting a foothold in Lollywood with her type of look..
