saima is syed noors second wife.
Re: New Pakistani Movies
Pakistanis really lose hope so fast. Just 'coz a bunch of really bad films like Shararat, Pyar hi Pyar Mein, Pehla Pehla Pyar etc. bombed they believe that there's no room for new directors. What we need is some new kind of cinema, we need people like all these video directors in Karachi and Lahore to actually get into the film business. Definitely, unless some good films are made people will keep pinning their hopes on the likes of the gigantic madame and the now totally hopeless syed noor. These people have a history of not delivering behind them. Syed Noor made some pretty awful films throughout the latter 90s and actually initiated the trend of "reviving" the dead Punjabi cinema with Choorian. If you want educated masses in the metropolises to step in, these directors will have to make decent Urdu films with good production qualities and scripts to match. We need a new approach to making a Pakistani film, and SOMEBODY out there has to do it.
Re: New Pakistani Movies
stalker.. its good to c ur views... very constructive...
Last night i saw "Larki Punjaban" @ Aaj TV... i really dont know wat the point was ...it seems Syed Noor just plan to do Muslim+ no muslime chemistry...& start movie without n e proper planning.
The good thing is Print Quality..it was digitally produced.
I must tell one thing about Nikkah (dir: Sangeeta), it was digitized by Rashid Khawaja & Shehzad Rafique for Prime Entertainemnt TV (ceo Rashid Khawaja ) after 18 months of Nikkah, when they plan to show nikkah Eid days.
We really support Rashid Khuwaja, Javed Sheikh, Reema Khan, Javed Reza , Shoaib Mansoor for their constructive contributions for the industry.
In last i must remaind that we should boycot all low quality movies.

Epic “In the Name of God” wraps Chicago shoot, moves to filmmaker Mansoor’s native Pakistan

Acclaimed Pakistani TV and music video director and composer Shoaib Mansoor completed the two-week Chicago leg of his social-religious epic “Khuda Key Liya” (“In the Name of God”). It also shoots in Pakistan and England.
“Shoaib’s mission is to show the world that all people are not as extreme as they are perceived to be,” said line producer Leigh Jones.
“He wants Americans to see that all Muslims are not extreme terrorists, and he wants Pakistanis to see that most Americans are not these petulant children.”
Pakistani pop stars Shaan and Fawad star as musician brothers from a moderate Muslim family whose paths diverge when Shaan comes to Chicago to study music and Fawad is lured into an extremist group.
Shaan’s character falls in love with and marries an American musician played by local Austin Sayre. After 9/11, Shaan’s character is detained indefinitely by the U.S. government for association with his brother.
“In the Name of God” also stars Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah (“Monsoon Wedding”) and Angela Williams of Britain.
A Pakistani national film award winner and top-rated TV director, Mansoor financed through his Lahore, Pakistan-based Shoman Productions.
Chicago native Ken Seng (“A League of Ordinary Gentleman”) shot on 35mm anamorphic on Mansoor’s own camera. Seng took over for David LeMay who shot the British sequences.
“Ken may shoot the rest of the film in Pakistan,” where the shoot will continue for six more weeks, Jones said.
Mansoor is posting in India, then “I’m almost positive it will get a theatrical release in Pakistan,” Jones said. “I’m going to help him with a festival strategy in the U.S.”
Local crew includes art director David Christopher Krause, UPM Amy Rising and AD Jennifer Gerber (who all worked on Paula Froehle’s “Up on the Rope”), costumer Emma Potter and gaffers Ron Forsythe and Kuba Zelazek.

Re: New Pakistani Movies
Its been such a long time since anyone even released a movie. Big vacuum to fill there. I hope the Pakistanis living abroad taking communications majors are tuning in to this void.
