Re: New Government
So it is by no means a revolutionary step (although a bit higher from the one that would have been given by the preivous govt).
Re: New Government
^^ If Govt can bring the fuel cost down by 20% ( atleast) that would be considered as revolutionary step, ar consquently, this decrease and the min. increase in the salary together will have some impact on the life of common man.
Ohtewise this increase is nothing comapre to the price-hike.
Re: New Government
That can be done by the freezing the amount of duties and sales tax on ever increasing oil and edible oil international prices.
Re: New Government
And you know it is not so easy to implement the miminum wage law, people find many ways to evade it.
Re: New Government
While industrialists are forced to pay minimum wages but the agriculture landowners evade it (mostly our politicians)!
Re: New Government
and i even know that it is near to impossible to freeze sales tax and other duties...

They keep haries and other workers.
Re: New Government
You know Pakistani businessmen can even evade minimum wage law in England why they cant do here!
Re: New Government
The PM has announced increase of minimum wage from current level of 4,600 to 6,000 effective July 1. For your information the level of minimum wage increased to 4,600 from 2,500 during last 8 years.
Thanks for the update. Now 8 years only a 2000 rupee increase? When i was in Pakistan 2000 rupees was nothing. Prices would increase on a weekly basis. It could barely cover your food expenses. The dawn had an interesting article that minimum wage should be near 11,000 rupees. But that would be tough to implement.

Oh yes. Instead they grant a loan and then keep the family salve for generations!
