Exactly! I started seeing a grief counselor but then transitioned into life coach when my needs changed. A life coach (at least for me) was a wonderful way to learn to balance and realize my own strengths/weaknesses/limitations, which in turn helped reduce my anxiety.
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you need to see your PCP and tell the that you are experiencing those symptoms. Hopefully they will give you a starting dose and then maybe refer you to a psychiatrist or aybe just treat you themselves. It all depends on the type of Dr they are and how good a rapport you have with them. I’ve gotten klonopin from both pcp’s and psychiatrists. And no, it doesn’t mean that you will need it for life. You will need it initially, but you can easily taper off it. And then like with a lot of people, just having the medicine within arms reach can act as a way to calm yourself. But obviously if you are having an attack, you do need it.
There are ways to meditate and calm yourself as well. I would highly recommend the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. There are also some videos on meditation and breathing techniques on the web. If you are interested PM me and I will look it up for you.
It is a serious issue and if you are feeling it getting worse, please do see your PCP.
A therapist and a life coach may help philo. Just digging down to the why of the source of the anxiety might just helps. I’m not for the mess unless you absolutely need it because they come with a gazillion side effects. Talking doesnt.
I actually have not since about last summer. Alhamdulliah, things are good right now, I think I’ve gotten my sh!t together lol…but I won’t hesitate for a second to go back if the need arises again
you know what, i wish i had gone to a therapist 4 years ago, when i really needed one ab tou, i guess i’ve coached myself quite a bit but the anxiety is there
