Bryant leads a fourth-quarter surge as Lakers get 10th consecutive road playoff victory and regain home-court edge.

Bryant scored 11 of his 31 points in the final 12 minutes on 5-of-5 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 99-89, and grabbed a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series.
O'Neal added 22 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers, who extended their NBA postseason record road winning streak to 10 games.
"I love playing here with 35,000 fans screaming at the top of their lungs," Bryant said. "When you make a run and you or your teammate hits one that quiets the fans, it feels great."

WEST
KINGS lead 3-1 over mavs; Gave 5 tommorow
Lakers lead 3-1 over spurs

Game 4: Lakers vs. San Antonio
Lakers win 87-85 over the spurs

The Lakers were 10 points behind with 4:55 remaining, and tied, 85-85, with 2:10 remaining. Bryant, who put the Spurs and their 35,000-plus fans through the same agony two nights before, made two three-pointers within 43 seconds of each other and then, with time running out, maintained a dribble at the top of the key.

To go on, the Spurs will have to beat the Lakers three consecutive times. The Lakers have lost three straight games once in Jackson’s three seasons. It doesn’t look as if Bryant will allow that to happen.

“I just love playing in pressure-type situations,” he said. "I’ve always been that way. It starts from an early age, playing pickup basketball, things of that nature.

"I’ve kind of grown into this role. My teammates look for me. They expect me to deliver in this kind of situation. That’s what I do for this team

Lakers vs. Kings
Notes: The Lakers have won seven of their last eight games against Sacramento, starting with a four-game sweep in the second round of last year’s playoffs. They are also 16-5 against the Kings since Phil Jackson became their coach in 1999.
The Kings, 7-2 in these playoffs, are the closest they’ve been to a championship since 1981, when they advanced to the conference finals while playing in Kansas City. The franchise moved to Sacramento four years later. … The Lakers have advanced to the conference finals 11 times since the Kings last got there.

LAKERS go through YAHOOOOOOOOO!!!

Quiet on Western Front
**LAKERS 106, KINGS 99 **

Game 1: Lakers lead from start to finish, silencing Kings and their cowbell-clanging crowd to seize home-court advantage.

Kobe Bryant scored 30 points, 10 in the fourth quarter, and Shaquille O’Neal scored 26, 14 in the third, and the Lakers rode a 36-point first quarter to the final seconds, when the loudest noise was work boots on arena stairs. Game 2 is Monday night.

The crowd, the incredible noise, was not a factor. The people here stood occasionally when it looked as though the Kings were in the game, or about to be in the game. But they sat, even when Webber begged them to stand and cheer, and even when Bobby Jackson, who scored 21 points, tumbled into the stands and was kissed on the head by two female fans.

I knew my guys were going to be ready," O’Neal said. “[The Kings] asked for us. We’re here.”
