I am no supporter of Nawaz but he has certainly won my praise for taking the right step here. Participation would have meant legalising the unconstitutional and illegal steps of the dictator. Mush himself admitted this to BBC and has therefore lost all credibility in my eyes

right step? as far as courts go Nawaz tried to do exactly the same thing. when he went on a mission to collect all powers under him, remember?

PML-N is a major party that can give Mushrrafs lotas serious run for their money. Also, as Reza pointed out beside , JI and PML-N are the major parties & rest of the parties really don't count. In any case, it all depends on what BB does + I don't really trust Qazi. He is a cleaver politician.

if PML(N) does not change its decision, u will see a fall out and ppl will leave the party. mark my words. having the MNA/MPA title is more important to them than sit out and be nobodies for 5 years.

JI is irrelevant. They used to get a few seats from Swat and Deer and no bod knows if elections will even be held in those areas.

Yes I know he's no angel but we must also learn to appreciate his good steps. I liked Mush at one time but his shenanigans over the past few months such as attack on judiciary, imposition of emergency to avoid a Supreme Court verdict, welcoming back the same corrupt leaders who he time and again had been telling us had no future in Pakistani politics have forced me to think otherwise. He just loves his kursi that's all. So If Mush is allowed to flip flop why are we denying others the same luxury.

nyah mon, lets reverse the sentence, if we are blasting musharraf for his flip flops then why are we not doing the same for others. That would be more accurate :)

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto said Thursday that her party now plans to take part in January 8 general elections but reserved the right to pull out later. “To take the process forward we have to take part, we believe, either to force the elections to be credible or – if it’s rigged – to demonstrate that it has been forcibly rigged,” Benazir Bhutto said in a telephone interview. “The PPP (Pakistan People’s Party) is participating under protest but reserving the right to boycott subsequently,” she added.

This is the first time NS has done anything good in his life. Lets celebrate. It could be suicide for him polictally :), but good for restoration of democracy.

I think from here Mushrraf's ltrue ove affair with Fazlur Rehman, BB and MQM will be undeniable by his chamchay.

Shame on you Musharraf, you can shake hands to anyone. So much for 'subse pehle Pakistan'. Choo^ye!
