Nasrin’s remarks trigger another row

Re: Nasrin’s remarks trigger another row

Some of the responses here typify why muslims attract so much unwanted attention. I only gave an analogy and "my muslim brothers" are already putting me down.

What difference does it make what that lady said? Who cares? Does it make any difference to our prophet(pbuh) or to Islam? It dosent - she wants more attention and thats exactly what she is getting. A couple of months down the line and she'll be out with a top selling anti-Islam book in the top 10 best sellers on Amazon. The best treatment for her is to pay absolutely no attention to her but how can we do that when we are such highly moral pakistanis !! God forbid...

As someone else mentioned in the thread there are other issues to be dealt with. Nothing is being done about the hierarchies of corruption running deep in our system, honour killings, forced child labour etc yet we spend time on empty threats, statements against the prophet(pbuh).

PS.
Oh please dont teach me about Islam. Some of you need to study Islam more.
go look at the rubbish posted "Appearance" thread - geez people suggesting muslims follow Muhammad(pbuh) because he had a beard.

Re: Nasrin’s remarks trigger another row

And yet you somehow don't seem to be as offended when you yourself are not upholding respect for the prophet by responding in ways in which the prophet probably wouldn't have responded. You know how Rasul (SAW) would have handled this situation? He'd probably have embraced this lady with kindness, expressed his point of view, and let her make her own decision in the end, and have moved on. :)

Why is that approach so hard for muslims to adopt, when we make it a rule to live the way he did? Or does that just apply to the beard, because its so friggin easy to avoid the work of shaving?

Re: Nasrin’s remarks trigger another row

Nasrin is a joke just like Salman Rashdie.

Re: Nasrin’s remarks trigger another row

Thank you.
You snatched the words right out of my mouth.

Re: Nasrin’s remarks trigger another row

Why hidus don't surprise me?
Every thinks he/she know it all-- every one thinks they know islam better then muslims.

One small point for you soulkurri Bibi.

To answer you half baked indian theories about islam---
Consider this
arab society before islam and after islam are 180 degree to each other.
like this
<-------------before --- after------------>
Arabs used to kill there new born famle childs like in inda(present day)
Drinking---- gambling----pagonism----(just like india)

so
when you try to tell us we are following ARAB tradition please mention Which arab tradition

Before islam or after islam

after islam arab society took a 180 dgree turn and became islamic society.

yes we do follow islamic law and social values ---BUT ITS NOT ARAB VALUES ITS ISLAMIC Value.

If you have indians have little honesty left they should try studying pre islamic arab era to get clear picture

Re: Nasrin’s remarks trigger another row

Blasphemy is a reality. We've seen how Muslims , justifiably, reacted to the works of Salman Rushdie, the above mentioned Taslima Nasrin, and the furore of the Danish cartoons. (By the way, I love the fact that not long after there was an animated version of 'The Message' released not soon after the Danish hullabaloo- the irony has me grinning from ear to ear :) ) The reactions are justifiable. If people demand 'free-speech' to say and write about whatever the hell they want, then be prepared for a pretty free response. The sad thing is though, although these episodes of blaspheme are really horrible, there is a significantly larger amount of protest geared towards these events, as opposed to defending the Islam we are living today- the Muslims who are in the living hell of one sided 'war' [crusades], our way of life being trampled upon, diluted and muddled under the banner of Imperialism of 'Knowledge', our unity being neatly and precisely sliced up before our very eyes with our consent. Where is our protest against this kind of blasphemy? Is this not a kind of sacrilege for us? How can we expect the respect and mercy of these people, when we can hardly get it together ourselves? Look at the posts in this one thread.
Please forgive me if in this strange frenzy I have said anything wrong or offensive to anyone.
