And infact the station you guys are talking about it Tando Adam Junction (not Tando Allahyar). Tando Allahyar comes on Hyderabad - Mirpurkhas track.. (I think)

Tando Adam doesn't seem to be official stop for Khyber Mail but whenever I've traveled from Khyber Mail, it always have a stop there.. hehe

I've all of these in my memory (but order might not be correct). I got this list from the TIME TABLE BOOK which I purchased and always keep in train travel to know the whereabouts and remaining kilometers etc.

The longest I've traveled by train is from Karachi to Havelian. It was 36 hours journey and was on Chenab Express (now named as Hazara Express). hehe

I traveled once from Rawalpindi to Karachi through Khyber mail. Khyber mail (down) reaches Pindi at about 3 in the morning. My uncle dropped us at about 11. There were three bogies parked at a platform. We went into ours and went to sleep. Train came pretty much on time but it was quite boring lying down in a parked bogie at a dark railway station and waiting for the train.

Well at least you didn't had to wait on the benches on platform :D

Once I had to wait 8 hours at Karachi Cantt Platform for Karakoram Express. It leaves at 4 pm but on that day it left on 12 am in night. It was because of derailment of freight train on Landhi bridge. Another time our train passed from a temporary bridge on Ranpathani when it was washed away by heavy rains.. It was very frightening experience. I'll try to post its picture..

^^ i remember this one!!!! ranpathani!!! last time i traveled it was completed. when it was under construction, i think in 2005/6 ??? the speed of train when crossing this bridge was not more than 2km per hour i think : D

my longest journey by train was from Karachi to Lahore, but via Sukkur/Larkana/ Dadu track, due to derailment of a cargo train near hydrabad, they change the track of karkoram towards sukkar, and this it took us more than 36 hours to reach lahore!!! and the funny thing is, i had a return ticket book from lahore to karachi for the same day i reached lahore : D i had to come back to lahore railway station right after 5-6 hours from when i reached

Sufi. Aceones, you guys have picture of that broken wall that sits next to the railway track between Karachi and Hyderabad, the one that Britishers built so if someone crosses it, they would shoot the person

I travelled from Karachi to Islamabad approx 15 times during 1990-1994! Never happened to go by Khyber Mail. Tezro, Tazgam, Shalimar, Allama Iqbal and Awami Express were the trains I travelled!

In my experience , Tezgam used to be the best way to travel between Karachi-Rawalpindi.

Yes! That used to leave from KHI at 1600 and arrive at RWP at 1430! The 7UP!

Any train ride in Pakistan was so much torture. How could you guys enjoy it. :bummer:

The real torture were the some of the railway stations toilet!

Yet they were enjoyable!

People used to travel in the train toilet too, and you could not use them , if you needed to go. Don't you remember ?

Toilet is one problem in Pakistani trains but let me tell you a trick. Search for most clean toilet throughout the whole train by passing through all the bogies especially look for in AC Lower / AC Business bogies :D Or make the guard your friend or bribe him a little, he will let u use his toilet which he normally keep locked :D

Another option is to book your tickets in AC Sleeper and now you have your own attached toilet which no one else can't use.
