The bottom line is that “if you are not in public place”, you can do whatever you want to do. It is between you Allah.
There is a standard practice for everything. For Prayers, the standard practice is that you should be clean (the prupose of wuzu or shower), and clean clothes. You should not be hungry, or rushed. otherwise the whole purpose of meditation is defeated.
The length of sleeve etc. is all cultural and thus depends on which culture you were born in and how you feel about short vs. long sleeves.
Therefore no one should give opinion to others. You want short sleeve then go ahead.
On the other hand if you are in public place, then follow the rules of the local culture as to what is acceptable and what is not!
